I’m Patrick Rills, a coder in Boston, MA originally from Baton Rouge, LA. I’ve worked in technology and software for almost 20 years in various roles from network administrator to project manager, but mainly as a full stack developer specializing in web and mobile UX as well as database design.
I’m currently a Principal Engineer at Lose It!, the premier mobile-based weight loss app which since 2008 has helped over 20 million users lose over 40 million pounds and is consistently a top health and fitness app in Apple's App Store. I work on the iOS team and am instrumental in designing new features and improving the user experience.
In my spare time, I have worked as a freelance writer in comedy, journalism and comic books. While living in Louisiana, I was a freelance entertainment journalist and critic for the Baton Rouge newspaper, The Advocate, where I reviewed movies and covered local events and film festivals. I’ve written professionally and independently produced graphic novels. I published my first graphic novel, "Like That," illustrated by Allen Gladfelter, to great critical response and national distribution.
